What is CMO?

CMO is the name of a modified fatty acid called Cetyl Myristoleate, which is the common name for cis-9-cetyl myristoleate. It is a natural substance found in certain animals, including beavers and mice. As supplied, it is a naturally derived, highly purified, and refined waxy ester prepared for oral administration. Fatty acids are the individual components of oils in the same way that amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. Polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as linotenic acid and linolelic acid, are crucial to life and are called essential fatty acids (EFAs). Research shows that CMO appears to have the same beneficial characteristics as the EFAs, however, it is considerably more potent and the benefits are longer lasting. EFAs are essential to normal cell structure, physiological processes, body function, and function as components to nerve cells and cell membranes. EFAs are depleted in chronic inflammatory diseases and their deficiency is associated with many
autoimmune diseases. EFAs when used over an extended period of time have been shown to decrease pain, inflammation, and motion limitations of arthritis. One of the characteristics of CMO is that it acts as a super lubricant (surfactant) for the joints.

Can I take it with my current medication?

Yes, but it is always advised to not take prescriptions at the same time as any supplement product. Either take the supplement first, waiting at least 40 minutes before taking a prescription drug, or if you must take the prescription first, wait 2 hours before taking CMO. This ensures that CMO will not be adversely effected by the prescription medication.
